What is the definition of beauty? It seems that stepping into the 21st century when human beings are entitled to a wide range of state-of-the-art approaches to improve their standard of living as well as draw on their social status concerning of both emotion and appearance, the beauty has been grabbed a headline frequently during the course of time. Some people stay a notion that prettiness comes from deep skin. Whether this perspective still account for criteria of the good looks while our current social setting is a place of chaos between saints and devils. After the controversial issue regarding the pageant beauty in Miss Universe contest, I strongly hold a belief that the beauty had better evolve from natural characteristic not from any competitions.
It is undeniable that each country possesses specific properties in terms of not merely geography but also appearance of an individual so that humankind can be characterised. In simple term, the Orient has from the past until now held their own side to determine which features on the face of people are the harmonious combinations. Evidently, looking at the people in the Asia, if a woman is considered the good-looking one, we can easily perceive that her face is comprised of phoenix eyes, curved brows, high bridge of nose, fair plump face etc. By stark contrast, however, when it comes to the standard of gorgeousness in Western, being wild, strong or sunburnt are head and shoulders above the rest. Therefore, the beautiful features of any people in countries are defined by their own cultural identity.
The contests of beauty, apparently, is a place where the term of beauty is offended when the beauty – the nature and the essence is taken to be competed. As a matter of fact, if the charm has been taken into account to test, not merely is its nature devastated but the relationship between competitors are also rushed into being transient and superficial. We cannot base on the glamour of Latin which has been increasingly regarded as the facilitator of winning in Miss Universe Contest or any other beauty in the world to judge that which one is better than others. More to the point, the thing we call the beauty has nothing to be criticized and we are impossible to take the features on any one’s face to measure. To the Judge in Miss Contests, actually, Miss A is subjectively selected to be nice but to millions of people around the world, Miss B possesses the noble value to become the Queen. Apart from it, what is the beauty when some controversies of indigenous Articles including Global Beauties and Missosology have revealed that Miss Vietnam failing to approach top 15 is stemmed from weak national brand name. Once the name of country is responsible for the result, we cannot find out the equality. The beauty race, therefore, fails to determine the glamour of people.
To cut a long story short, the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder or at the very least from nature and it should not be recognized by any competition due to the fact that accidentally any contest makes us further on the road to blurring the edge between being true beauty and trying to show off charm.
